Construction, dimensions & buying guidance

Best for: Athletes and active sleepers who want a cooling hybrid built around recovery, with a choice of firmness.

The Spartan is Brooklyn Bedding's performance mattress: a 13.5-inch hybrid built for active recovery. Its Far Infrared Rays (FIR) technology transforms your body's heat into waves of energy reflected back to you through the fibers, helping to enhance faster recovery and promote quality sleep. Sleep Foundation named the Spartan the Best Mattress for Athletes and Active Recovery in its Best Mattresses for Athletes 2026 list.

Features and feel

FIR recovery technology: Far Infrared Rays technology recycles what your body produces (heat) into energy reflected back through the fibers — Brooklyn Bedding's active recovery process.
TitanCool™ phase change surface: A patented phase change molecule (PCM) surface infusion designed to help maintain ideal skin sleep temperature, with a cooling top panel that draws heat away from the body while wicking away moisture.
CopperFlex™ foam: Premium copper-infused antimicrobial foam gives immediate contouring response while letting body heat escape thanks to the cooling benefits of copper.
Gel-infused comfort foams: Layers of comfort foams deliver deep body contouring and pressure point relief, with a gel cooling bead infusion for temperature moderation.
Zoned Ascension® coils: An 8-inch core of up to 1,032 individually encased coils, carefully zoned in three areas to give support where you need it most — ultimate pressure point relief while decreasing motion transfer between sleep partners.
Three firmness options: Choose Soft, Medium or Firm in any size.

Choose your fit

Options: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King or Split Cal King 36x84, in Soft, Medium or Firm. Brooklyn Bedding's firmness guide points side sleepers toward Soft, combination sleepers toward Medium, and back sleepers toward Firm. Select your options above to see the current price.

Follow the manufacturer’s care directions for the cover and mattress core.

Cooling materials affect surface feel and airflow; temperature experience varies with your room, bedding and personal preferences.
